Hermann Vaske studied communication at the University of the Arts in Berlin and directing at the AFI in Los Angeles. In 1983 he went into advertising and started work as a copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi in London. He then went on working for the German hotshops GGK and Springer & Jacoby. After a spell in New York at Grey Advertising, Hermann became Creative Director of Lowe & Partners in Frankfurt and Executive Creative Director at FCB in Hamburg.

Vaske spent ten years in advertising agencies and did everything from junior copywriter to become the creative boss of a global agency with 200 employees. After leading FCB into the top ten of the German creativity rankings, Hermann decided to found Hermann Vaske’s Emotional Network. The advertising department of the Emotional Network did work for clients like Deutsche Bahn, BMW, Volkswagen, Hornbach, Burda Media, ZDF and Bayern 4 Klassik, the classical radio.
